About
My name is Lindsay Sciré Sherman
I am a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
While pursuing my major of Fine Arts, along with a minor in Art History, I have also come to love and develop the skills of
graphic design.
My knowledge of Fine Art has heavily influenced my passion to communicate through diverse media.
I am now currently enrolled at The Fashion Institute of Technology for the Color Specialist Certificate program.

What Inspires Me
My work is about the beauty of the female form, and the expectations that some men have for a woman, while relating each piece back to myself. I work with a blue color palette to accentuate the sadness and depression that can come from uncomfortable encounters. As I’ve experienced life during college, I’ve increasingly gained a stronger sense of perseverance with assertiveness. These experiences have shaped my views and understanding of feminism which has progressively become extremely important to me, my empathic behavior, and the overall theme in my body of work. In relation to this idea of empathy and feminism, another important component in my work is intimacy. The idea of human touch and vulnerability strongly influence me. This line between sexual desire and sexism coexist in my body of work. The creation and introduction of my series of “Blue Girls” embody the above descriptions. The look of my Blue Girl has gone through different evolutions, but I often use a stylized, abstract, blue female figure with a hollowed out face to symbolize the emptiness and sadness one can feel from a disappointing encounter, allowing other women to be able to relate to, and identify with.
